Carriers separate these two categories for a reason: storm damage is a covered peril and wear is not. The problem is that a photograph from 40 feet up flattens the difference. A creased tab and a curled tab look nearly identical from a drone — but one is an impact failure and the other is age.
That is why our inspection is physical. We lift tabs, chalk test squares, photograph with a scale reference and a date stamp, and note the wind direction pattern across slopes. Evidence beats opinion when a file is reviewed.
