Complete tear-off
Everything comes off so the decking can be inspected and repaired. It's the only way to catch soft sheathing, and it resets the full manufacturer warranty. This is what we install on nearly every home.
Residential Division · BBB A+ Accredited
Complete manufacturer systems for Connecticut homes — GAF Timberline, TAMKO and CertainTeed architectural shingles, every accessory installed to manufacturer spec so the warranty actually holds when you need it.

Assembly anatomy
A shingle is one component. The manufacturer only issues the strongest warranty when every one of these layers is present and installed to spec — select any layer to see why.

Inspection point
Exhaust — 18 sq in. net free area per linear ft
Hot, humid attic air leaves at the ridge, pulling fresh air in at the soffits. Without this exhaust the attic cooks the shingles from underneath and condenses moisture on the sheathing all winter.
What we check
Net free vent area measured against attic square footage, and soffit intake confirmed clear of insulation — exhaust without intake does nothing.

Shingles installed over one existing layer. It's cheaper up front, but it hides deck problems, traps heat, shortens shingle life and makes the next roof more expensive. We'll tell you honestly when it isn't a good idea.
Airflow
A roof breathes through balanced intake and exhaust: soffit vents low, ridge vent high. When intake is blocked by insulation or exhaust is undersized, the attic runs hot in summer and damp in winter — which cooks shingles from below and grows mold on the sheathing.
We measure net free vent area against your attic square footage and correct the balance as part of the roof, not as an upsell.
Connecticut winters
Ice dams form when heat escaping into the attic melts snow on the upper roof; the water refreezes at the cold eave and backs up under the shingles, then finds the ceiling below.
The durable fix is a combination: air-seal and insulate the attic floor, restore ventilation, and run leak barrier well past the interior wall line. Please don't chip at ice or climb an icy roof — call us instead.
Diagnostic
Repair vs. replace diagnostic
1. How old is the roof?
2. What's the main symptom?
3. Is water reaching the attic or drywall?
4. Has it been repaired before?
0 of 4 answered — your risk score appears as soon as all four are tapped.
